Hopi Ear Candles
Hopi Ear Candling
This has many different titles 'thermal auricular therapy', 'ear coning' and 'thermo therapy', but best known now as Hopi Ear Candling. The oldest recorded use of Hopi ear candling was by the Hopi Pueblo tribe who live in the South Western part of the USA. Paintings of the Ear Candles which are dated way back in history are still in existence. The stories behind their use which was for both spiritual and physical purposes were painted and verbally handed down by the Shaman "holy people" of the tribe. It is thought they were used in initiation rituals and healing ceremonies. The Hopi Ear Candle is not a candle as such , but a hollow tube made out of cotton flax. The flax is stiffened when they are impregnated with extract of honey and herb oils (one they particularly use chamomile sage and St Johns Wort), the healing properties of which have been known to the Hopi tribe for hundreds of years. The making of the candles is a complex process and all genuine Hopi candles are made in the traditional manner.

It also helps migraine, headaches and hayfever. People suffering from frequent bouts of colds and flu will experience less with regular candling as they also boost immunity. Stress levels will also be lowered as I include facial massage with the treatment.
